Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Havlat and Khabibulin out - 5-25-09

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Plenty of dinged up bodies in tonight's Game 5 of the Western Conference Final. Four pretty dang good players are not expected to be in the lineup tonight.

For Detroit, forward Pavel Datsyuk (foot) and defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom ("lower body") are out.

For Chicago, forward Martin Havlat (head) and goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin ("lower body") will not play.

EN Says: You'd think not having to deal with a Hart Trophy candidate in Datsyuk and the finest defenseman of this era in Lidstrom (above) would be a big boost for the Blackhawks, but they didn't face those players in Game 4 on home ice and got blasted, 6-1.

Cristobal Huet will be Khabibulin's replacement once again and he was horrendous in Game 4. We have a hard time seeing him picking up his game enough to help Chicago pull out a win in Detroit. That said, if you're a Penguins fan, Cristobal Huet is your favorite goaltender in the world tonight.

We'll be semi-live blogging this game tonight at 7:30 p.m. Please tune in.
