Neil re-signs with Senators - 7-1-09

This move is a little surprising. The Senators have re-signed forward Chris Neil. The deal is for four years and for $2 million per season. According to TSN, Neil took less money to stay in Ottawa.

Neil is coming off an injury-filled season that saw him score just 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 60 games.

EN Says: Neil has been a huge part of the success Ottawa experienced earlier this decade. When healthy, he's one of the best antagonists in the game. He's very physical, he'll fight just about anyone and he can score some goals here and there. We like the signing a bunch especially considering the low cap number.
