Penguins

-NHL Network is profiling 30 teams in 30 days. Aug. 24 is the Penguins' day.

-Pascal Dupuis (above) did his thing with the Stanley Cup recently:

-Why do we have sneaking suspicion that at some point in the festivities he fired a 55-mph slapshot from the boards on net?

-Check out this crazy story about some random guy who snuck on to the ice during the Penguins' celebration following Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final.

-Someone in Washington, D.C. is going to miss Brent Johnson a little too much:

-Happy 77th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Leo Boivin, a member of the original 1967-68 squad and a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

-Happy 45th birthday to former Penguins all-star forward John Cullen.

-Happy 36th birthday to former Penguins pylon defenseman Hans Jonsson.

Northeast Division

-The Sabres signed former Avalanche forward Cody McCormick to a one-year deal.

Southeast Division

-Former Panthers forward Ville Peltonen signed with Dynamo Minsk of the KHL.

Pacific Division

-Good thing the NHL is fighting so hard to keep the Coyotes in Phoenix. It's not like they owe money to players or anything.
