Penguins
-Since the local team can't seem to win the thing, the Penguins are going to party with the Stanley Cup in Washington D.C.
-According to Michael Russo of the Star Tribune, the Wild is considering making an offer to Petr Sykora (right).
-Penguins assistant trainer Scott Adams did his his thing with the Stanley Cup in his hometown of Windsor, Ont.
-Former Penguins forward Kris Beech has joined Geneva-Servette in Switzerland. He played last season with HV71 in Sweden.
-Happy 54th birthday to former Penguins forward Stan Jonathan.
Atlantic Division
-Road Trip Alert: The Devils will put individual tickets on sale beginning Wednesday at 11 a.m. There will be plenty of seats available when the Penguins travel to Newark Dec. 30, March 12 and March 17.
-New Jersey will bring former Oilers goaltender Mike McKenna to training camp as a non-roster invitee.

-The Islanders signed forward Matt Martin to a three-year entry-level deal.
-Former Rangers forward Jan Hlavac has joined HC Liberec in the Czech Republic.
Northeast Division
-The Bruins signed coach Claude Julien to a contract extension.
-Senators captain Daniel Alfredssson (right) said it would be ideal if his team dealt disgruntled forward Dany Heatley before the start of the season.
-The Canadiens' overhaul this summer has really put the screws to Montreal retailers stuck with tons of Alex Kovalev t-shirt jerseys.
Southeast Division
-Road Trip Alert: The Capitals will put single-game tickets on sale next Saturday. We're pretty sure you need to take a blood test to get tickets to the Penguins' games at the Verizon Center Feb. 7 and March 24.
-With Donald Brashear gone, the Capitals don't really have an enforcer.

Central Division
-Columbus signed forward Derick Brassard (right) to a four-year contract extension with a annual salary cap hit of $3.2 million.
-The Blue Jackets re-signed forward Alexandre Picard to a one-year, two-way deal.
-Detroit captain Nicklas Lidstrom is still dealing with a wonky elbow.
-The Red Wings will bring in former Kings goaltender Dan Cloutier as a non-roster invitee.
-Was Detroit's 1989 draft class the best ever?
-Mike Yeo apparently coached the Predators' power play last season.
Northwest Division
-The OIlers have re-signed forward Robbie Schremp to a one-year two-way deal.
-It looks like former Islanders forward Shawn Bates will be in the Avalanche's training camp as a non-roster invitee.

Pacific Division
-Former Panthers defenseman Steve Eminger signed with the Ducks for two years and a total of $2.25 million.
-The Ducks will bring former Kings forward Kyle Calder into training camp as a non-roster invitee.
-Anaheim acquired forward prospect Shawn Weller from the Senators for forward prospect Jason Bailey.
-The Sharks will bring former Blues forward Dan Hinote (right, hugging it out with Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara) to training camp as a non-roster invitee.
Patrick Division
-The U.S. Department of Transportation dropped the hammer on charter flights by Air Canada and as result, sent several Canadian teams scrambling to find alternate transportation for the upcoming season.
