Penguins offer Bayda tryout - 9-10-09

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

According to Kevin Allen of USA Today, the Penguins will have former Hurricanes forward Ryan Bayda (above, with Tyler Kennedy) in camp on a tryout basis. Bayda had 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 70 games last regular season. In the playoffs, he had four points (two goals, two assists) in 15 games.

Penguins fans might remember Bayda as the person who kicked off the brawl at the end of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final when he came in on Kris Letang with a high stick:

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch had previously reported that Bayda was offered a tryout with the Blues.

(Kudos to The Confluence for the find.)
