The Penguins unveiled their new marketing campaign this upcoming season. The theme is "Defy Ordinary:"
We really like how the team has incorporated the community of Pittsburgh into its marketing the past few seasons and this latest video doesn't deviate from that approach. Frankly, the Steelers or Pirates could stand to improve in that area.
That said, we think it's a bit of a downgrade from last seasons "A Great Day for Hockey." That slogan paid tribute to former Penguins coach Bob Johnson and just fit so naturally for this franchise.
Whle the new campaign might not be in the neighborhood of Johnson's wisdom, it does have one distinct advantage. No. More. Music. From. The. Clarks.
