Malkin day-to-day - 03-15-10

Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (above) is listed as day-to-day with a right foot injury. He was injured when he was hit by a slap shot from Kris Letang in the second period of yesterday's game in Tampa Bay. X-rays of Malkin's foot showed no fractures.

Malkin is the team's second leading scorer with 69 points (23 goals, 46 assists) in 62 games.

Note: According to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun, the league has not scheduled a disciplinary hearing yet for Lightning forward Steve Downie over his takedown of Sidney Crosby yesterday.

EN Says: Kris Letang should be suspended until he can show he's less reckless with his slap shots.
