Malkin out again - 03-22-10

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (right) will not be in the lineup tonight when the Penguins face the Red Wings in Detroit. During Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes, he reinjured a foot injury which he initially suffered March 14 in a 2-1 win at Tampa Bay. The injury forced Malkin to miss two games last week.

In Saturday's game, Malkin had a goal and an assist. In 63 games, Malkin has 70 points (24 goals, 46 assists).

With Malkin out, the team's forward lines looked like this during the morning skate:

Chris Kunitz-Sidney Crosby-Pascal Dupuis.

Matt Cooke-Jordan Staal-Bill Guerin.

Alexei Ponikarovsky-Max Talbot-Ruslan Fedotenko.

Mike Rupp-Craig Adams-Tyler Kennedy.

In Red Wings' news, Detroit will be without forwards Dan Cleary (groin) and Patrick Eaves (head). Additonally, steady defensive blue liner Brad Stuart (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision.
