Devils lose in overtime, move ahead of Penguins - 04-02-10

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

Jonathan Toews' shootout goal gave the Blackhawks a 2-1 win at New Jersey, their first in the Garden State since 1997.

Chicago tied the game with 26 second left in regulation on a goal by Kris Versteeg (above). Antti Niemi made 32 saves in the victory.

Martin Brodeur made 25 saves in the loss.

The Devils earned a point in the loss and moved into first place in the Atlantic Division with 95, just as many as the Penguins. They also have the same exact record as the Penguins but have a tiebreaker by virtue of that pesky season sweep of the Penguins.
