Dukes women beat UNC-Wilmington, 70-59

Alex Gensler (pictured, right) scored a game-high 15 points and was named tournament MVP as she led the Duquesne women's basketball team to the 2009 Hampton Inn Invitational Championship with a 70-59 win against UNC-Wilmington last night in Wilmington, N.C. The Dukes moved oved to 6-1 with the win.
Gensler was one of five Duquesne players who scored in double-figures, leading a second-half charge and erasing a three-point halftime deficit. Duquesne outscored UNC-Wilmington, 42-28 in the second half.
Rachel Frederick recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Samantha Pollino, was named to the all-tournament team after scoring 12 points last night. Vanessa Abel scored 10 of her a career-high 12 points in the second half and Kelly Britcher came off the bench to add 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting including two 3-pointers.
