The mystery surrounding Rodrigo Peggau is ...

I have been getting a bunch of Q&A submissions about 6-foot-8 redshirt freshman post player Rodrigo Peggau (pictured), so here is the real deal with the young man from Brazil.
Peggau played 6 minutes in the season opener against Nicholls State, 5 against Iowa and 7 in the overtime win against Arkansas-Monticello. Many of the questions that I have received have mentioned Peggau's health.
The deal is this, according to coach Ron Everhart, whom I just got off the phone with: Peggau has a sore knee, but it is not the one he had surgery on during the off-season -- it is his other knee. Nothing major, just a sore knee.
But that isn't the only component as to why he didn't play at all against Western Carolina or, yesterday, against Radford. Because of the sore knee, Peggau has been a little limited in practice (as you can imagine) and is still in the process of grasping everything. He is making progress nicely -- along with 7-0 sophomore Morakinyo Williams -- but it is just a case of those two games being tight and Everhart making some personnel decisions to stick with the guys who were already in a rhythm and had already been in the game.
So, long story short -- Peggau's knee is a little sore, but it isn't anything major to worry about right now. And, because of the injury, he was setback a little, but he's still developing and working hard to secure a spot in the rotation. When the right time and situation presents itself, he will be in the game.
