In a surprising move, Duquesne men's basketball player Melquan Bolding, who just finished his sophomore season with the Dukes, plans to transfer, a source close to the situation told the Post-Gazette late Friday night.
The same source also confirmed that sophomore center Morakinyo Williams and sophomore center Oliver Lewinson will not be back with the team next season. In addition, freshman forward Andre Marhold could transfer from the program, as a decision with him will be made in the coming days.
When reached late last night, Duquesne Ron Everhart said he couldn't comment on transfers as per university policy. If, in fact, one of the players leaves, a press release will be issued, he said.
Of the players leaving, Bolding comes as the biggest surprise, as he was the team's third leading scorer at 11.8 points per game, playing in 19 games. He missed 13 games this past season with a broken wrist and scored a career-high 32 against Fordham.
Williams, a transfer from Kentucky who is a native of England, has enough credits to where he can graduate this summer.
