As was first reported by the Post-Gazette on Wednesday afternoon, associate head coach Bill Barton is leaving for Marshall to become an assistant there under new Thundering Herd coach -- and longtime friend -- Tom Herrion. The news became official just a little while ago when Barton's hiring was approved at Marshall and his subsequent resignation cleared all hurdles at Duquesne.

Duquesne coach Ron Everhart said, "I want to thank Bill for the time and effort he put into the Duquesne basketball program. Bill is a tireless worker who always represented the University and basketball program with class and professionalism. I wish him and his family the best."

While Herrion had this to say of Barton: "I am excited to have Bill join our basketball family at Marshall. Bill brings a wealth of experience having been a highly successful prep school coach and most recently he has been the associate head coach at Duquesne helping Ron Everhart rebuild that program. Bill's experience and work ethic will be a valuable addition to our program."
