Duquesne trying to land SG Rene Castro

Written by Jenn Menendez on .

Duquesne is trying to land shooting guard Rene Castro of Milton, Mass. for next season and he is on campus today and tomorrow visiting, according to a source.

Castro, 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, was the Massachusetts player of the year at Worcester Academy and is considered a 3-star recruit, which would be another score for Jim Ferry who got a verbal commitment from power forward Isaiah Watkins last week. (also considered a 3-star recruit.)

ESPN has Castro listed as the No. 44 shooting guard for 2013 out of 50.

He scored 23.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and had 1.6 steals a game a year ago.
