G Bryan Harris waits: verbal commit from Maryland exploring options
Count Bryan Harris, a 6-2 combo guard from Maryland, as another recruit waiting to see who Duquesne’s next coach will be.
Harris gave a verbal commitment to Ron Everhart March 16 that he would commit to Duquesne for next season.
In the days since Everhart was fired from the program, Harris’ father, Marvin Harris, said his son is still very interested, but has been exploring his options.
“We’ll wait to see who the coach is, but I’ve got to protect my son,” said Mr. Harris. “He’s still very interested, but there’s a chance it isn’t mutual. …My phone has been blowing up. It’s not like he’s going to get stuck but he had planned on signing on signing day.”
“We’re just in a holding pattern.”
According to the Baltimore Sun, Harris had turned down offers at Appalachian State, Hofstra, Quinnipiac, Robert Morris and Wofford.
Harris went to prep school at Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia.
