Talley: "Just thought it wasn't a good fit."

Written by Jenn Menendez on .

Mike Talley said today his reason for leaving Duquesne was a family decision based mostly around finding a better fit for himself.

Talley was thrust into a major role as a freshman when Eric Evans was injured last year, but said he felt he didn’t fit in this year, his sophomore season.

“It has not hing to do with playing time,” said Talley. “Eric’s leaving I’d be able to play. Me and my Dad just thought it wasn’t a good fit. We’re trying to seek out other opportunities.”

Talley also squelched rumors that his roommate Jerry Jones would also be leaving the program: “He’s staying. I heard that rumor too. He’s staying.”

He also said he thanked Coach Ron Everhart for the opportunity, and Everhart thanked him for everything he's given the program in the last two years.
