Ward's "defensive" highlight

In speaking of his style of play during his retirement press conference today, Hines Ward made repeated mention of being honored to have been included in the team's defensive highlight video, despite obviously being a wide receiver.

The "highlight" video is the montage of thunderous hits and spectacular plays made by the defense, set to "Renegade" by Styx, and played on the Heinz Field scoreboard during each home game when a full-throated resopnse from the home partisans is desired.

The hit was Ward's near decapitation of Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers during the 2008 season, the play that set in motion the "Hines Ward rule."
