Sunday Stadium Scenes

It may be a bit much to call a 24-0 win a meh performance, but the Steelers' victory over Seattle today left a bit to be desired. The Steelers netted only 3 points out of a pair of first-and-ones from the one-yard line , the defense is still looking for its first turnover of the season, and as Ed Bouchette noted in his blog, the offensive gave less than adequate protection to Ben Roethlisberger and Shawn Suisham missed a very makeable field goal.

But this game clearly was never in doubt. This was such a snoozer that at one point in the fourth quarter, two gentlemen in my row got into a heated discussion about corporate and capital gains tax rates (honest to God). The Steelers win easy -- even if it should've been 38-0 -- and balance is restored to the cosmos. At least for a week.

And the Steelers should be able to keep their momentumn going, at least for another week as next Sunday they'll travel to Indianapolis, to take on the Colts, who are an unmitigated disaster at this point without Peyton Manning. After getting thrashed on the road by AFC South foe Houston, they were embarrassed at home by Cleveland yesterday and have fallen to 0-2 for the first time in 13 years.
