The "Terrible" Wedding Party @ Training Camp.
There's a scene in the movie Diner in which a bride to be laments her future husband's demands that their wedding colors be Baltimore Colts' blue & white. A helpful friend replies, "coulda been worse ... coulda been black & gold -- Steelers colors" ...
Well, those were in fact the wedding colors on Saturday for the newly minted Mr. & Mrs. Michael & Jennifer Detore of Greensburg, who in less than 2 hours after saying their vows, made an impromptu trip from nearby St. Bartholomew's Church to Saint Vincent College to take wedding photos -- in tux & gown -- at Steelers training camp.
A camp staff member took them down to the field where they snapped pictures and were immediately of interest to all around. Check out the video we did on them.

From weddings, to anniversaries ... Mary & Dan Kusnierz of Laurel, Md., have had enough of tropical locations to celebrate their nuptials; previous anniversary trips took them to Hawaii & the Caribbean, but Saturday, they spent their 15th Anniversary in Latrobe with their dearly beloved Steelers.

Cool souvenier. The woman who got the autograph's hand were shaking she was so excited ...
Italian meets Irish: Giovanni Poggi, he of the Roman Steelers bar fame, spent Saturday of his 2009 Pittsburgh barnstorming tour at training camp and then, appropriately enough, at a gather of the Steel City Mafia. He also met the cartoon above.

This has a ring to it, maybe better than the "Stairway to Seven" we've been hearing. Though we also like the suggestion by reader Jeff Megahan of Australia (via Altoona) who suggested the Steelers paraphrase the Judas Priest song to "You've got another ring coming ..."
Looooooooooooooouuuuu Lipps was the guest of honor at Saturday's Steel City Mafia event at Sharkey's in Latrobe.
