It would seem that the NSA has continued its practice of spying on our phone calls in the name of homeland security. Obama assures us they are not actually listening in, but I still don't like it.

Military Culture
The Military Brass still doesn't get it. They say they should be allowed to continue to oversee and prosecute cases of sexual assault in the military despite a massive failure to do so in the past. The culture of sexism and abuse that exists in the military is exactly why we can no longer let them police their own.

City Council President Darlene Harris switched her party registration to Independent so she would be eligible to compete for mayor in the general election. Does she really think she has a shot? Or is there some odd conspiracy being cooked up between Harris and the current mayor?

It's bad enough that college graduates are saddled with massive debt, now the poorest students are going to be negatively impacted. Interest rates on subsidized Stafford Loans is set to double in July.
