Free Speech Chicken

Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy came out against gay marriage a few weeks ago. My first impression was, though I disagree with his homophobic viewpoint, he was just exercising his free speech. It appears that his franchise does not discriminate in the workplace, so no harm done, right? The problem is, Cathy gave almost $2 million to anti-gay organizations through Chick-fil-A’s charitable arm. One could argue that, indirectly, patrons are funding discrimination.

Last week, in a massive show of support, like-minded patrons flocked to the fast food restaurant. Occupy Chicken.
