All means all

It seems like only yesterday that the governor of Texas considered seceding from the union, tea party supporters such as Sarah Palin and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann talked of armed rebellion, and archconservatives crippled ACORN's efforts to prevent discrimination, provide affordable housing and register voters to participate in the democratic process.

Given these recent displays of right-wing anti-Americanism, I am heartened to see Glenn Beck and his disciples, including Rep. Tim Murphy, finally embracing this country's core values, as embodied in the Pledge of Allegiance ("Pledge Incites Peters Debate," Oct. 28): "one nation ... indivisible, with liberty and justice for all" (emphasis added).

And all it took was a 90-year-old organization of civic-minded, intelligent patriots to show them the light.

God bless the League of Women of Voters!
