Postal heroes
Ruth Ann Dailey's June 1 column ("A Health Care Parable from a Post Office Line") begs the question -- why didn't she go to UPS, FedEx, AAA or her local drugstore for service? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it the banking industry with "new technologies" and lots of "managers" that brought about our dire economy? When police and firemen are praised for their heroism in the face of terrorist attacks, please remember the quiet heroism of the postal employees who continued to do their jobs when faced with the anthrax threat. The mail got through! DEE TOMMARELLO
