Any voter who thinks the issue of health care is about health is sadly missing the big picture. The politicians who tried to push this bill through, without the public's knowledge of what it was all about, don't care about health insurance. They don't care if any one of us has coverage. It is all about money, as it always is with those in Washington. Lawmakers want the money, power and control of this issue, which is one-sixth of the U.S. economy. The real reasons for the stimulus, auto bailout and cap and trade are no different.
Sen. Arlen Specter, at his first town hall meeting, stated that this bill had to be passed right away. Why? Lawmakers for this bill did not want voters to know the particulars. So much for those who are supposed to be looking out for our interests. Mr. Specter is not saying that anymore -- wonder why? This Pennsylvania senator showed his true self-serving colors when he changed his party to try to save his political skin. He and many of his fellow left-wing colleagues are in trouble, and they know it.
Those in Washington who are trying to run over the voters with these tactics have no respect for the taxpayers who keep this country moving. I certainly have no respect for them.
