We pay for Promise

UPMC is a nonprofit company, yet posts incredibly high profits. In addition, it sponsors the Pittsburgh Promise to provide college tuition for Pittsburgh public school students with policyholders' money (as rates continue to rise year after year).

My family uses UPMC health insurance, yet when my kids are college age they will not able to take advantage of this "perk" because we live in Washington County. I put perk in quotes because it is a perk to those receiving the money, but not to those of us paying into UPMC insurance who fund this.
