Healthy choices

Written by Rosa Colucci on .

Health care should be based on the concept that health is not a chance, but health is a choice. Meaning, health is the result of your lifestyle, good or bad habits, diet, nutrition and your structure, which affects your function. This puts most of the responsibility on the patient. What a concept!

People sometimes think that healthy people are lucky. Health has nothing to do with luck. Of course your genetics can play a part. However, think of your genetics as "the loaded gun." Your lifestyle "pulls the trigger." Therefore since your lifestyle can promote health, your lifestyle can also ruin your health.

Since cigarettes, alcohol, soft drinks and trans fat can ruin your health, make smart and healthy choices. Health is not luck, health is not chance - health is a choice.
