Hazelwood trail takes a hit

The new 2-mile trail section in Hazelwood sustained a good bit of damage from the recent storms. Portions of the trail, which is mostly a crushed limestone surface, are rutted or eroded from storm water that rushed across. The trail, which opened in June and passes the hulking and abandoned LTV Steel mill, remains passable but riders will want to keep their eyes peeled for rough spots. It can be accessed from the east side of the Hot Metal Bridge.
