App allows tracking of Megabus.com vehicles
Megabus.com has added its Northeast routes, including Pittsburgh, to its mobile tracking application. The app, which was rolled out in February in the Midwest and Southeast, allows users to determine the estimated time of arrival for their bus and find bus stop locations.
The app โ the only official megabus.com application โ is available for iOS and Android platforms. Users input their origin and destination cities and the times they are traveling to confirm what time their bus will arrive.
We downloaded it and it seems reasonably easy to use. (The 10 a.m. Pittsburgh bus to New York is running 52 minutes late, BTW.)
The app is available on megabus.com's Northeast, Midwest and Southeast routes. Current cities available for tracking include: Albany, Amherst, Ann Arbor, Athens, Atlanta, Baltimore, Binghamton, Birmingham, Boston, Buffalo, Burlington, Champaign, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Chicago, Christiansburg, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbia, Columbus, Des Moines, Detroit, Durham, East Lansing, Fairhaven, Gainesville, Grand Rapids, Hampton, Harrisburg, Hartford, Hyannis, Indianapolis, Iowa City, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Knoxville, Louisville, Madison, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Mobile, Montgomery, Morgantown, Nashville, New Brunswick, New Haven, New Orleans, New York, Omaha, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, Princeton, Providence, Richmond, Ridgewood, Rochester, Saratoga Springs, Secaucus, St. Louis, State College, Storrs, Syracuse, Toledo, Toronto and Washington, D.C.
Go here to view the app and visit www.megabus.com for additional information about the service, schedules, arrival and departure times and fares.
Short-term lane closures are possible on Interstate 79 from the Glenfield interchange to the Butler County line after 7 p.m. weekdays starting Monday as crews seal pavement cracks. All restrictions lifted by 6 a.m. daily. The work will continue through Aug. 6.
Liberty Tunnels maintenance will close one outbound lane from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday; one inbound lane will be closed at 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with restrictions lifted by 5 a.m. each day.
Here, for your viewing pleasure, is the Parkway West at Green Tree at noontime today. No crashes that I know of, just One of America's Most Congested Highways living up to its billing.

Have a great weekend. Watch out for all of this if you are traveling in or around Downtown.
