More work in the parkway 'bathtub'
The westbound side of the Parkway East will be closed Monday through Thursday nights between Grant Street and the Fort Pitt Bridge for structural repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced. All westbound traffic will be required to exit at Grant and use Fort Pitt Boulevard to reach ramps to the Fort Pitt and Fort Duquesne bridges starting at 10 each night. Restrictions will be lifted by 5 a.m. daily. The Grant Street on-ramp to the westbound Parkway East also will be closed.
The City of Pittsburgh has announced its milling and paving schedule for next week.
Restrictions and closures are possible on Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Paul Street from Boggs Avenue to the dead end and Bigham Street from Grandview Avenue to Omaha Street in Mount Washington; and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Woodville Avenue from Greentree Road to the Parkway West ramp in the West End; on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Colescott Street from Noblestown Road to Shadyhill Street in Westwood and Tropical Avenue from Crane Avenue to the dead end in Beechview; and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Greentree Road from Woodville Avenue to Wabash Street in the West End; on Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on South Mathilda Street from Liberty Avenue to Aloe Street and South Winebiddle Street from Friendship Avenue to Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield; and Paul from Boggs to the dead end; on Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aylesboro Avenue from Forbes Avenue to Wightman Street in Squirrel Hill, Bigham from Grandview to Omaha and Olympia Street from Grandview to Piermont Street in Mount Washington; and on Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tropical Avenue from Crance Avenue to the dead end; Crosby Avenue from Broadway Avenue to Wenzell Avenue; and Goldstrom Avenue from Rutherford Avenue to Banksville Road, Beechview.
Now 80 days to go before more than one-third of the region's public transit service vanishes if the Port Authority can't solve its budget problems.
One lane will close in the inbound Fort Pitt Tunnel at 10 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights for maintenance. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. daily.
Coal Valley Road will close to through traffic between Route 885 in Pleasant Hills and Route 837 in Clairton beginning at 7 a.m. Monday and continuing through July 13 for replacement of a pipe culvert and drainage repairs. A detour will be posted. This is an Allegheny County project.The ramp from Route 30-Ardmore Boulevard to the outbound Parkway East will have short-term lane closures and traffic shifts after 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
