Say it ain't snow!
All eyes were on the sky this morning as Pittsburgh awaited a possible late April snow. It has fallen fast and hard enough in the highlands east of the city to cause driving difficulties and power outages. By 9 a.m. nothing but rain had fallen in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County but forecasters were still calling for a changeover to snow sometime this morning.
The weather's probably going to disrupt any road construction planned for today, but we'll pass along the latest tidbits from PennDOT and Allegheny County.
Intermittent lane and shoulder closures are possible on sections of Route 28 and the Parkway North that pass under the Veterans Bridge and its ramps from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnight after 8 p.m. through late May.
Short-term lane closures also are possible on Route 65 in both directions between Camp Horne Road in Emsworth and the McKees Rocks Bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday as crew drill core samples for a future improvement project.
The ramps from northbound Interstate 79 to Route 65 at Glenfield will get an application of sealant that may cause traffic shifts but no full closures from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through early May.
All that work planned for the Fort Pitt Bridge ramps and Grant Street ramps in Downtown Pittsburgh over the past weekend was called off because of the beautiful weather. PennDOT will reschedule it.
Sign-ery

Cleaning of the inbound Fort Pitt Tunnel scheduled for tonight (Monday) has been postponed because of the cold. PennDOT also had planned redd up the outbound Squirrel Hill Tunnel later in the week, but has postponed that as well.
Crawford Run Road will be closed to through traffic between Freeport Road in East Deer and Butler-Logan/Russellton roads in Frazer for about two weeks beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday for drainage improvements. Local traffic will be maintained on Crawford Run in both directions from the Butler-Logan /Russellton roads intersection to just east of Baldwin Lane and in both directions from Freeport Road to just west of Snyder Lane.
The right lane on the ramp from the Fort Duquesne Bridge to Route 65 will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday during inspection work, weather permitting.
That bridge that carries Freeport Road over Barge Basin in Harmar, between the Hulton Bridge and Guys Run Road, will have alternating one-way traffic at times from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays starting Tuesday through April 30 during repair work.
