Before the One Young World (OYW) summit began with a speech from former president Bill Clinton, the media had a chance to ask questions of OYW co-founders Kate Robertson and David Jones and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl introduced the panel and said Pittsburgh won the bid to host OYW because it is a city of innovation that helps young people succeed.

Each panel member highlighted the importance of youth in the digital revolution that is underway around the world.

Addressing the "unbelievably unique generation" of under-30 delegates, David Jones said, "You understand better than anyone how to drive and effect positive change."

Jamie Oliver said that at the end of the day, OYW is all about showing the delegates how to inspire others and promote positive change in their own unique ways.

"You have to be diverse in the way you choose to tell the story," he said.
