Former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan will attend the 2012 One Young World Summit in Pittsburgh this week, organizers confirmed today. Mr. Annan, a diplomat from Ghana, will address the 1,200 delegates on Sunday on the subject of "Interventions" -- which also is the title of his latest book -- and also will speak about the role of young leaders in international relations. His speech will be followed by a question and answer session with delegates representing 190 countries.

One Young World is a charity that stages an annual summit to give youth leaders the kind of high-profile media exposure usually afforded only to global political leaders and corporate chieftains. This year, delegates will have a chance to speak alongside international figures such as former President Bill Clinton and chef Jamie Oliver.
