Power restored
Allegheny Power has repaired electrical lines to our house and fixed the downed lines to the neighborhood. We now have power.
We still do not have telephone or Internet service. The telephone line was downed by the same rogue branch. T-phone service won't be re-established until next week.
Still, we're happy -- ecstatic -- that we can return to the empty farmhouse and get on with life. Daughter Abbie will be thrilled to hear that we are moving out of her house, where we've been living for six days.
We also had my brother-in-law Bill Paxton dig out the driveway, although we're not sure whether we can use the driveway due to some packed-in ice..
Good news, though.
Suellen is now packing the covered wagon with everything, including dogs Nutmeg and Cricket and cat BTTB, for the happy trip back to the farm. The cat, in particular, will be glad to return to his hunting grounds.
Everyone will be anxious to get back home. I feel a John Denver song coming on.
Now the big question is, can be negotiate the driveway?
And the bed will be cold.
