IC Brewery meeting set

Is Collier Development really serious about taking community input to plan a redevelopment of the former Iron City Brewery site in Lawrenceville?

To date, the company has flaunted the city’s historic ordinance by demolishing buildings without Historic Review Commission approval or permits.

Collier was fined last week $20,000 in housing court for its improper procedure. District Judge Tony Ceoffe imposed that fine on the theory that it would inhibit further demolition, but a caller informed me today that historic lamp posts have been removed ahead of a hearing before the Historic Review Commission today.

Hmm.

In case you want to weigh in, the first public meeting the company has scheduled for input is next Monday at 6p at the “O” building on the brewery site.
