Couples preparing for pop-up re-nup

Leadership Pittsburgh’s pop-up event this year is a wedding vow renewal in Upper Lawrenceville on May 19. Every year, LP’s pop-up event erupts in a different neighborhood. renups

It is described as a community impact project to “surprise, provoke and entertain while showcasing the neighborhood in a positive way.” (This photo, posted on the pop-up site is of Webster Kelsey and Kate Lovelace.)

We Do (Take Two) begins at 2p, with a mass vow renewal at 2.30p in the Goodwill parking lot on 52nd Street.

It is open to all couples who want to renew their vows. Wedding-day attire, vintage or vogue, is encouraged.

After the re-nups, couples and guests can stick around for food and drink donated by Upper Lawrenceville restaurants, peruse local art displays and hear Slim Forsythe and his New Payday Loners perform honky tonk, country, country gospel and cowboy songs from 3 to 5p.

The event has financial support from the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development.  Visit the pop-up site for more information.
