Now that it's August, our thoughts naturally turn to the start of the upcoming school year. As a teacher, August is when I rush to write syllabi, draft lesson plans, and photocopy things for the first day. But for those who are students, after the "back to school" clothes shopping, there's always a mixture of excitement and anxiety about what a new class, teacher, or school will be like. I've selected a few picture books that will set anxious kids (and parents) at ease about the start of a new school year.
