North Side Additions

Written by China Millman on .

Some recent and upcoming additions to the North Side food scene:

I've been hearing great things about Buena Vista Coffee, the cafe that replaced Beleza Community Coffeehouse. Coffee and espresso are roasted by Commonplace in Indiana, PA. Cookies, muffins and other pastries are baked in the premises. A great new spot to while away a rainy afternoon.

In other cookie news, Priory Fine Pastries is opening a second location in the Cardello Building. The original location on East Ohio Street opened in 2004. The Graf family also owns the Priory Inn.

The Northside Chronicle reported that Nikki Heckman, who owns the casual eatery Bistro To-Go, wants to expand. The music store located next door at 417 East Ohio St. is moving, so Heckman plans to open a casual Soul Food restaurant patterned after Bistro-To-Go.  Diners will be able to choose from both bistro's offerings and move freely between the spaces.
