Anemone (or windflower) is a great perennial plant which blooms in August.
My garden is filled with a couple different varieties, but I love 'Queen Charlotte' for its spectacular purple buds and blooms.
To tell you the truth I don't know which I like better, both are beautiful.
The buds and flowers are held three feet above the ground by sturdy stems which rarely need staked, even in part shade.
That's one of the reasons I love it. The anemone doesn't get the sun it needs in my garden, but stands straight up.
Anemone is care free and dances in the summer breeze.
Everyone should grow anemone.
