One of the joys of growing flowers is displaying them in a vase for all to see.

It's not all about flowers though when it comes to a cutting garden. Foliage plants like hostas can make an impact in a vase too.

I cut these one day as a centerpiece for a family cook out.

The vase is centered with 'Doublicious' hydrangea, then some hosta flowers, 'Nikko Blue' hydrangea, Seven sisters roses and a few different types of hosta leaves.

The leaves add bold texture and a different look to the display.

Think of other foliage plants that would look great in a vase like coleus, caladiums, begonias and others.

How about some grasses?

Walk through the garden with a new appreciation of plants which will be fun to display in vases.
