An email appeared in my inbox today declaring the beginning of a new group in town, Tree Pittsburgh, the wonderful non-profit formerly known as Friends of the Pittsburgh Urban Forest. They have a new web address, and a new logo. The new logo is the creation of Jonathan Fobear, a Pittsburgh based graphic artist, part of which depicts the City of Pittsburgh. It's a nice clean look and a sleeker, easier to remember web address. Wish them the best.


The guys over at Bike Pittsburgh are looking for some volunteers to staff the CMU Health and Fitness Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 10am – 4pm. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has announced the winners of their 2010 photo contest. Not only can you look at the images online, you can buy a calendar for the new year featuring all the winners. Plus watch out for the grand prize winner in the pages of the Post-Gazette coming your way soon ... promise it will be online too!
