Art, watersheds and Ebay

Written by Lizabeth Gray on .

Davieas-piece-for-ebayYou have two days left for your chance to help a good cause and win a beautiful piece of art for your home or office. The "Nine Mile Run Restored" Stained Glass Mosaic donated to Nine Mile Run Watershed Association by the artist Davia Davis is the group's first online auction via Ebay and hopefully a very successful one.

Also on the books for tomorrow is a tree tenders course at the Riverview Park Activities Building, Riverview Drive. This is the first night of a three day course that is both educational and a lot of fun … says a graduate of the 2009 course, me!

NOTE: Seems I need to make a correction here. The current tree tender course is already started. The next course is set for Oct. 9 and if you are interested in attending you will need to preregister with the folk at Treevitalization

Speaking of courses, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has several classes coming up in the month of October. From Urban EcoSteward Native Seed Collection Training to a Healthy Yard Workshop, there is something for every green soul out there.

Now, it's time to shut down your computer, go outside and enjoy the day.
