Ever been to 'Foodball media day' at Pitt?
It's pretty awesome. The energy on the field—between the reporters and the players— it's positively frenetic.
For my first time really on a football field, I felt right at home. It was hard not to, amid all the chaos. That's what Pitt media day is all about: Videographers, Photographers and general mayhem converging on UPMC's football field.
Some players spend the time talking to each other.
Others couldn't get away from the spotlight if they tried.
Tino Sunseri was definitely the man of the hour. Check out tomorrow's post-gazette to see Bill Brink's feature story on the new starting quarterback of Pitt's team this year.
And speaking of Bill Brink...
There he is! Getting the scoop from RS sophomore and receiver Mike Shanahan.
You can find out much more about Pitt Media Day, including the controversial decision to reinstate defensive end Jabaal Sheard at post-gazette.com. You can also watch Sheard apologize for his actions and see Coach Wannstedt defend his decision at today's press conference.
Sheard was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest for his participation in a fight on July 18 where he threw a man through an art gallery's glass door. He plead guilty to aggravated assault and resisting arrest, as reported yesterday by AP.
Even with the controversy surrounding Sheard, it seems that the Pitt team is as ready as ever to get their season started. I for one, am excited to see what they have in store for us.
