Saving Abel cancels due to singer's illness
Alt-rock band Saving Abel, best known for the hit single "Addicted" and its touring run with Nickelback, has canceled its show at Club Zoo Wednesday due to health problems plaguing singer Jared Weeks.
The band recently was forced to cancel three appearances in Michigan due to "a nasty mix of diabetic shock and the flu." Weeks was hospitalized for a few days and the tour resumed last Monday, but after one week of performances, they decided to cancel a week of shows so that Weeks could have an insulin pump inserted into his body.
Refunds for the Club Zoo show are available at point of purchase.
One last point: Does it seem like rock stars are more open about their health problems than they were in the past? I'm pretty certain the Rolling Stones would have come up with something, I don't know, more rock-star-ish than diabetes and insulin pumps.
