Yes to Craig, no to one-liners

Written by Barbara Vancheri on .

Movie critics may miss the campy one-liners and gadgets of the older 007 adventures, but 61 percent of the moviegoers do not. At least that's according to a survey of more than 1,000 people by Fandango.

Other results about "Quantum of Solace":

  • 78 percent say the edgier James Bond, as played by Daniel Craig, makes them more interested in the franchise.
  • 82 percent have seen most or all of the Bond films. We bet that's most, not all since this will be the 22nd.
  • 93 percent plan to see the movie on opening weekend.
  • 61 percent are male.
  • 58 percent are ages 25-49.

"Quantum of Solace" is Fandango's top-selling title but it has virtually no national competition. When it comes to advance sales, nothing can touch "Twilight," which accounts for 49 percent.

In Pittsburgh, "What Just Happened" starring Robert De Niro is also opening but just at the Manor Theater in Squirrel Hill.
