'Avatar' clings to top of box-office chart
Even Mel Gibson cannot dethrone "Avatar" from the No. 1 spot at the box office.
Variety reports "Avatar" made another $30 million while "Edge of Darkness" was second with $17 million. The romcom "When in Rome" was third (and almost universally panned) with $12 million while "Tooth Fairy" added $10 million and "Book of Eli" earned an estimated $8.7 million at the box office.
Final figures will be out Monday as always.
