Variety reports today that "The Green Hornet" starring Seth Rogen will be released in 3-D and is now scheduled to open Jan. 14, 2011, rather than Dec. 22, 2010. Rogen is shown above at last summer's Comic-Con event in San Diego.

Sony is putting the best face on the move, which takes the picture out of prime holiday season and moves it to the Martin Luther King weekend. "We've had a lot of success with the Martin Luther King frame, including ‘Paul Blart,' " the studio's head of marketing and distribution told Variety.

"Paul Blart" was a fluke that did far, far better than anyone imagined.

The trade publication also reports that there will be a sequel to "Monsters, Inc." and that the next Pixar movie, called "Brave" and featuring the voice of Reese Witherspoon as a princess who longs to be an archer, will be released June 15, 2012.
