Free comic books on May 1

Written by Barbara Vancheri on .

On May 1, thousands of comic book retailers around the world will give out more than 2 million comic books as part of Free Comic Book Day.

Comic book heavyweights Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, and Marvel Comics are among the many publishers creating  special titles for the ninth annual event.

Along with free reading material, comic book stores will also have creator signings, special sales and encourage customers to dress up as their favorite super hero or comic book character while attending the event. Fans can check out the list of available titles on the newly launched Free Comic Book Day site.
