Pedal Pittsburgh's annual pancake breakfast is this Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon, at Whole Foods in East Liberty. It's $7 a plate and benefits the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh. People can also register for Pedal Pittsburgh 2010 at the event.
To further the cause of good design of the built environment, the center offers grants, technical assistance, and educational programs, of which Pedal Pittsburgh is one.
This year's Pedal Pittsburgh event - in which participants ride a trail connected by places that embody great design - is May 16 and starts from South Side Works. The tour will include stops at South Side Works, PNC First Side Park, Point State Park, the Morningside business district, East Liberty's historic enclave, 5000 Penn Avenue, East Side, the August Wilson Center, Federal Hill and the Mt. Washington Rain Garden.
