One very expensive pothole

Written by Jon Schmitz on .

MoonscapeRussell Singer, featured in a PG story today about the pothole problem on local roads, provides an update of the damage: His mechanic says he'll need to replace the front upper control arm, control arm bushings upper and lower, sway bar end links front and rear, front strut, front coil spring andĀ front upper spring seats.

"Being that some of these parts need to be replaced symmetrically on both sides of the car, the total cost of suspension work, parts and labor, will be around $1,700. That's in addition to the $600 I've already spent on tires," he said in an e-mail today.

He plans to file a claim with the city to recover his losses.
