SSDs again
Dell is offering 128GB SSDs in their higher-end notebook PCs for $600. A move like this from a major player in the industry will certainly be a big help in getting these devices to a price point that mere mortals like myself can reach. And earlier this month, Apple chopped the price of their SSD-equipped MacBook Air by $0.5K.
Of course, there's some speculation about whether these drives actually hurt or help your notebook's battery life. Personally, I'm not interested in the argument until these babies get down to a reasonable price. By then, they'll be in their fifth or sixth generation and the bugs will be worked out.
